First initiative of the Churches Flesh & Blood Campaign with the IBTS takes place in Celbridge in Holy Week
The flesh and blood campaign is an all-Ireland initiative aiming to encourage Church congregations and parishes to see blood donation as a part of their giving. It also seeks to equip people as advocates for blood donation, enabling them to raise awareness of the need for donors with their family, friends and community, potentially saving thousands of lives each year.
The various religious congregations in Celbridge and the surrounding area are supporting the campaign in the first initiative with the IBTS by lending their support to the blood donation clinic in St Raphael’s Centre, Celbridge on Wednesday 1st April.
“It is a great joy to us ministers, especially in this week when we celebrate the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ, to participate in the Flesh and Blood campaign, and to turn our focus on His call to be servants to all who are in need. As those who lead our various congregations in Celbridge and the surrounding towns we are delighted to have the opportunity to lead by example in this worthy cause,” said Pastor Paul Carley.
Donor Recruitment Manager at the IBTS Aisling O’Brien added that the IBTS was delighted to have the support of the churches to bring real awareness of the constant need for blood donations and enable us to reach in to communities to help maintain supply to all our hospitals. “The support of all religious communities here in Celbridge for our clinic is greatly appreciated.”
