We would like to thank you for supporting the Irish Blood Transfusion Service on social media. The Irish Blood Transfusion Service participates on social media in order to raise awareness about the need for blood donation and to engage individuals and organisations with our message. 

We want our social media pages to be a forum for everyone and a safe place where ideas and information are shared, however we expect that this will be done in a respectful manner. IBTS have an active presence on social media channels and have Community Standards for our own followers and service users. On all our social media channels we reserve the right to delete or block content that contains any or all the following: 


• Direct threats; 
• Self-injury; 
• Terrorist organization associations; 
• Bullying and Harassment; 
• Attacks on public figures; 
• Criminal activity; 
• Sexual exploitation; 
• Regulated goods; 
• Nudity; 
• Hate Speech; 
• Repetitive Posting 
• Violence or Graphic Content; 
• Fraud and Spam; and/or Infringement of intellectual property

We reserve the right to remove any content that does not necessarily represent the views of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service. We will remove such content at our absolute discretion. All comments should be respectful and contain language that is appropriate for all groups and ages. Content that is obscene, indecent, defamatory or offensive will be removed. We reserve the right to block users from all or any of our social media pages. 

If an individual repeatedly violates this Social Media Community Policy or has undertaken or is undertaking any type of legal proceedings against the Irish Blood Transfusion Services, we reserve the right to block that user from posting on this page. We encourage all users of our social space to act respectfully to other users and to be active members of this community. 

Should you chose to become a fan/follower of our social media pages we may reach out to you using tools available to do this on individual social media channels to promote and inform you of IBTS services including (but not limited to) clinic details, policy changes, surveys and any other information that we feel may be of interest to supporters of blood donation. We will only use information that you have chosen to share on the social media channel to connect with you. 

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is committed to excellence in meeting patients’ needs through the professionalism of our staff and the generosity of our donors. On all of our social media channels user generated posted comments and images are not endorsed by the Irish Blood Transfusion Service and may not represent the views of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service. 

We reserve the right to make amendments to this Social Media Community Policy from time to time.
